Edison's Incandescent Lamp

Edison’s Incandescent Lamp

We all know that today we always used an LED lamp. Did you know what people used to light a room in more than 60 years ago? In 60 years ago human use a incandescent lamp. The incandescent lamp is a source of artificial light generated by channeling electric current through the filament which then heats up and produces light. Glass that envelops the hot filament to connect with blocking the air so that the filament will not directly damaged by oxidation.
In 1879 edison was made a incandescent lamp, that makes his names remembered forever. But, edison not the first person that makes electric lighter. A few years before 1879, lamp that used electric was exist and used for light the way in paris. But, edison incandescent lamp is more efficient and make a chance to have a simple lighter in home. In 1882 his company start producing electric for houses in New York, and for a short time, this thing has spread to all countries in world. We all need to appreciate Edison work for the time of making this incandescent lamp.
Edison has give a big contribution, he has make more than 1000 thing like projector, telegram, and coffee maker. Edison says in his biographics that’s he has do 999 fail in his project of light bulb and in the 1000 try, he found the light bulb. He was a super diligent man that he won’t fail make a light bulb. If Edison didn’t do that 999 fail and finish at 1000 try, what will the light bulb seen right now.
I didn’t fail, I just found 999 ways to didn’t make light bulb. Edison was once says that after making his light bulb. Thomas Edison began serious research into developing a practical incandescent lamp in 1878. Edison filed his first patent application for "Improvement In Electric Lights" on 14 October 1878. After many experiments, first with carbon in the early 1880s and then with platinum and other metals, in the end Edison returned to a carbon filament. The first successful test was on 22 October 1879, and lasted 13.5 hours. Edison continued to improve this design and by 4 November 1879, filed for a US patent for an electric lamp using "a carbon filament or strip coiled and connected ... to platina contact wires." Although the patent described several ways of creating the carbon filament including using "cotton and linen thread, wood splints, papers coiled in various ways,"Edison and his team later discovered that a carbonized bamboo filament could last more than 1200 hours. In 1880, the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company steamer, Columbia, became the first application for Edison's incandescent electric lamps.
